Two men shot dead in Quiapo, one in Tondo

Two men were shot to death by unidentified assailants Monday afternoon in Quiapo, Manila while a 20-year-old man was shot while sleeping in Tondo yesterday morning.
In Quiapo, the victims were identified as Victor Puno, 23, and Orlando Cabuso, 40.
Both victims were from Del Carmen, Florida Blanca, Pampanga, according to the identification cards police recovered in their possession.
Initial investigation showed the two men were drinking softdrinks in front of a store on Elizondo corner Globo de Oro Streets at around 1:15 p.m. when a group of men suddenly came up to them.
Without warning, the group repeatedly shot the victims.
Puno died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the head, while Cabuso died while undergoing treatment at the Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital. Cabuso sustained two gunshot wounds in the head.
Case investigator, PO1 Jerico Jimenez, said Puno was shot at close range in the right temple.
The assailants fled immediately after the incident.
Jimenez said witnesses refused to give a statement to the police.
Jimenez added police are still establishing the motive for the killing. The remains of the victims are now at the Universal Funeral Morgue for autopsy.
In Tondo, an unidentified person shot dead one Bongbong Tequillo right inside his house on Moriones Street.
Police records showed the gunman barged into Tequillos house at around 3 a.m. and repeatedly shot him. The victim died on the spot.
