Man without fear causes alarm in Pasay
June 7, 2003 | 12:00am
Residents of Barangay 108 Zone 12 in Pasay City panicked Thursday night when a neighbor suddenly climbed the 20-foot high Meralco post for still unknown reasons.
Police said Mauro Rosal Jr., 39, of Tengco street could have only been deranged or high on drugs when he scampered up the post.
"No one in his right mind would do that," a police officer said.
The incident took place at around 8:45 p.m. at the corner of Tengco and Aurora streets.
Like a man without fear, Rosal climbed the post and stood on the streetlights steel bar.
Neighbors immediately sought the help of Police Officer 2 Roderick Miranda, who also lives in the area and was then off duty and resting at home.
Miranda negotiated with Rosal and urged him to go down the post.
Rosal did so after about half an hour.
Rosal was charged with alarm and scandal. A P2,000 bail bond was recommended by the court. Nikko Dizon
