A kidnap or simply robbery?

-
This question hounds operatives of the Western Police District on the case of a student of Centro Escolar University (CEU), who has been missing for four days.

According to WPD investigators, the last communication the girl had with her boyfriend was when she sent a text message to him that they were being held up inside an FX taxi in the morning of May 15.

"Na-holdup kami dito sa FX," said the investigator of the last text message the girl sent to her boyfriend, who immediately reported the case to the police.

Police said the girl was supposed to be on her way home to Parañaque City in the afternoon of May 14, shortly after she checked the enrollment dates at the university.

The girl failed to get home, making her parents worried and contacted her boyfriend, other friends and classmates.

As of press time, police said the victim’s family has yet to receive a ransom demand from the suspects for the release of the victim.

Police said the case was initially entered and booked as robbery in the police blotter of the General Assignments Section (GAS) of the WPD but investigators decided to refer the case to the Presidential Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER) team for follow-up operations. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
