Ex-cop found dead inside abandoned van

Police are investigating the slaying of a former policeman, whose body was found inside a van abandoned at a parking lot in Binondo, Manila last Sunday.

Investigators have been coordinating with the relatives of Peter Ignacio, 43, a resident of 458 Geronimo street, Sampaloc, Manila after his body was found inside a purple Nissan Serena van (XFX- 370) at the corner of T. Alonzo and Bahamas streets in Binondo.

SPO4 Alfredo Salazar said Ignacio’s body bore several gunshot and stab wounds as well as bruises in various parts of the body.

He said the body was discovered by Ruben Villiones, who also had a car parked in the area. Villiones said he couldn’t drive off in his service vehicle because a van was blocking the entrance of the parking lot.

When he approached the vehicle to get the attention of the driver, Villiones saw the victim slumped on the passenger seat. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Nestor Etolle
