Police probing death at Muntinlupa mall

-
Police are investigating the death of a woman who fell from the rooftop of a shopping mall in Muntinlupa City last Friday.

P02 Angelito Palaya of the Muntinlupa police Criminal Investigation Division identified the victim as Marilou Lozada, a resident of Barangay Bayanan in Muntinlupa City.

Based on initial investigation, the victim fell from the roof of the Metropolis Shopping Mall located near the Alabang viaduct at around 10:15 am last Friday in what appeared to be a suicide.

Some of those who saw Lozada hit the ground even managed to take her to the Alabang Medical Clinic. However, she was declared dead on arrival.

Investigators are still trying to find out whether the incident was indeed a suicide as they found no suicide note or other evidence to support the theory.

Foul play has not yet been ruled out and investigation into the case is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Taguig, two persons including a nine-year-old girl were killed while crossing the C-5 Road the other day.

The victims were identified as Shelailane Gordones, 9 and a certain Clarissa, 41, both residents of ISG Central, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.

According to the Taguig Traffic Enforcement Unit, the incident took place at 5 p.m. last Friday along the southbound lane of the C-5 Road in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.

Gordones and Clarissa were crossing the road together when a speeding Isuzu Dropside vehicle hit them.

The driver of the vehicle, Filmore Cahilog, 30, a resident of Laguna, told the police that it was already too late when he saw the victims.

Cahilog will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides. Marvin Sy
