A son of a Makati City councilor was killed the other night when an unidentified assailant slashed his throat in Barangay Rizal, Makati City.
The fatality was identified as Vincent Pimentel, 38, a tricycle driver and son of Councilor Astolfo Pimentel.
PO2 Ricky Tan of the Makati police homicide division said the incident took place at 7:15 p.m. after the victim and his live-in partner, Carolina Agullana, had just dropped off a passenger who had been riding with them in their tricycle.
After stopping the tricycle at Blueberry Extension, Pimentel and his passenger both got off and walked toward the direction of Mockingbird street.
After a few minutes Agullana told the police that she saw Pimentel walking back toward her with his hand on his throat and blood oozing from his throat.
Pimentel was brought to the Ospital ng Makati where he died an hour later.
A witness who was standing along Mockingbird street told investigators both men talked briefly before the suspect slashed the throat of the victim and walked away.
