1 dead in FX robbery

Police are now hunting down two men who robbed and shot dead a 25-year-old stage actor inside an FX taxi along Barangay Lourdes, Quezon City Monday night.

Victim Roberto Sacdalan, a resident of 852 Dos Castillas street, Sampaloc, Manila, sustained a bullet wound in the head and was pronounced dead on arrival at the National Orthopedic Hospital.

The two suspects, described as men in their 20s, were armed with a handgun and a bladed weapon. The incident occurred at about 7:50 p.m. along Quezon Avenue near Cordillera street in Barangay Lourdes.

Sacdalan was onboard an Isuzu Hi-Lander taxi (PXL-999) bound for Quiapo, Manila when the gunmen, posing as passengers, announced the hold-up.

The suspects demanded that Sacdalan hand over his belongings but the latter resisted. One of the robbers then pulled out a handgun and shot him once on the right side of the head. – Matthew Estabillo
