Driver kills live-in partner’s lover, is unrepentant

-
Drivers, they themselves boast, are great lovers. But when two drivers are involved, who’s the greater lover?

A common law wife of 15 years of a family driver apparently found another younger driver the better one – and her lover paid dearly for it.

This is their story, according to a police investigation report submitted to Parañaque City Mayor Joey P. Marquez.

Porfirio A. Almedilla, 41, driver, married, of Everlasting Compound, Bgy Marcelo Green, Parañaque City, went home un-announced Sunday night and caught his live-in partner, with whom he has four children, and neighbor Eufricino de Jesus, 31, single, and also a driver, in the act in the family bedroom.

In a fit of rage, Almedilla stabbed both with a kitchen knife, fatally wounding de Jesus. Returning to calm, he stepped out of his house and voluntarily surrendered to the responding barangay tanod of Marcelo Green.

Yolanda Almedilla, 37, married, and the suspect’s live-in partner, sustained a lone stab wound on the right shoulder and was taken to South Super Highway Medical Center on Dr. Santos Ave. She was later transferred to the Philippine General Hospital.

Case investigator SPO2 Alberto Parena said Almedilla’s live-in partner, in a statement, said she would not file a formal complaint against the suspect. She claimed that de Jesus was her former boyfriend who, despite her repeated plea to end their relationship, visited her whenever the suspect was not around.

"Hindi po ako nagsisi sa ginawa ko," (I don’t repent what I’ve done) the suspect said.
