More infrastructure projects in Las Piñas

Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel "Nene" Aguilar has announced that his administration has completed more than 100 infrastructure projects in 2002 and vowed to implement more projects that will benefit Las Piñas residents this year.
Aguilar said among the major projects completed in 2002 include the construction of a three-story school building in barangays CAA and Talon V for his "School in Every Barangay" project, a modern tricycle terminal cum livelihood stalls in Barangay Talon 1 and a modern public market in Barangay E. Aldana.
Other completed projects are concreting and asphalting of roads, improvement of drainage system, construction of government buildings and covered basketball courts, multi-purpose halls, improvement of parks and installation of deep-wells among others.
City engineer Rose Bantog said the city government also allocated a budget for land improvement and for the construction and repair of public school buildings, health and day-care centers.
Aguilar said that in the remaining 18 months of his administration, priority will be given to the construction of additional school buildings to address the increasing number of enrollees every year, more day-care and health centers and the improvement of drainage system to minimize flooding in the city during the rainy season.
