Fil-Chinese traders critically wounded

- Pete Laude -
Two Filipino-Chinese traders are now fighting for their lives in a hospital after they were shot by two unidentified armed men while attending to their store Saturday night in Caloocan City.

Superintendent Dionisio Borromeo, city police intelligence and investigation chief, identified the victims as Gilbert Tiu Ngo, 41, and Necy Cac Ngo, 43, owners of Golden Plu Poultry Supply at 524 5th Avenue, West, Caloocan City.

At around 7:30 p.m., the Ngos were reportedly busy attending to their store’s customers, when two men, who pretended to be buyers approached the victims.

One of the suspects suddenly barged inside the store which prompted Gilbert to confront him, but the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the store owners point blank hitting Gilbert in the head and Necy on her back.

"We are still trying to establish the suspects’ motive," Borromeo said. Borromeo said that the suspects fled immediately on board a motorcycle with plate number UB-8470 towards Quezon City without touching the victims cash and valuables.

"It could be a business rivalry dispute or the victims could have some personal contention with the suspects," Borromeo said.
