Chinese national’s disappearance in Valenzuela baffles cops

-
One month after the disappearance of Chinese national Ryan Quilala Tiu from his rented apartment in Valenzuela City, police are still facing a blank wall as to what really happened to him.

Highly placed sources said that Tiu’s father arrived recently in the country from China to personally look at his son’s case but is yet awaiting words from the authorities.

Tiu, alias Ryan Co, 33, of Lot 10, Block 5, 16 Jade Street, Hiyas Subdivision, Barangay Paso de Blas, Valenzuela City, was reported missing on Dec. 18.

Ana Garvida, 56, owner of Tiu’s apartment, told police that she last saw the Chinese sales agent on Dec. 12, when he paid the monthly rental of his apartment. She added that she also saw Tiu’s car, a blue Toyota Revo (WHK 998) parked in front of his apartment.

On Dec. 18, Teresita Uy, secretary of Soon Chiong Trading where Tiu was employed, started to search for the missing employee after he failed to report for work for almost a week.

Ocular investigation conducted by the Valenzuela City police at Tiu’s apartment showed no signs of forcible entry. His neighbors told the police that since Dec. 12 until Dec. 18, when he was reported as missing, they haven’t noticed something unusual at Tiu’s apartment.

Detailed guards at Hiyas Subdivision were also in the dark. They told the authorities that they haven’t heard of any abduction nor robbery incident committed within the subdivision on those specific dates.

Sources said that Tiu just disappeared from his apartment without a trace but his father is hoping to hear from him soon and that he is also expecting for positive action from the authorities concerned. – Pete Laude
