The victim was identified as Sioc Hee Lim Ong, 76, a resident of Unit 29-B of the Frabella Building, Rada street, Legaspi Village, Makati City.
SPO4 Leonardo Timtiman, chief of the homicide unit of the Makati police, said the buildings security personnel at the ground floor heard a loud thud at 11:15 a.m.
Upon inspection, one of the security guards discovered Ongs body sprawled on the terrace floor located at the fourth floor of the building.
Basil Ong, the son of the victim, told the police her mother had just suffered from a mild stroke and was brought back to the condo unit from the Chinese General Hospital yesterday.
Timtiman said the mother was depressed and felt she was a burden to her son because of her ailment and old age. Her son said he never expected his mother take her own life because of depression.
Investigation revealed that Ong jumped from the service area of the building on the 29th floor and landed on the terrace.
The victim, clad in dark pants and a brown shirt, took off her slippers and eyeglasses and left them on the floor before leaping to her death. No suicide note was found.
