A 17-year-old girl took her own life by hanging herself the other day in Las Piñas City.
Senior Superintendent Armando Pineda identified the victim as Michelle Muncada, a resident of 46 Manggahan Compound, B.F. Resort Village, Barangay Talon Dos, Las Piñas City.
Investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the mother of the victim overheard her talking about her boyfriend to a friend. The mother scolded the victim for talking about the topic because she was still very young. Angry over the response of her mother, the victim locked herself in her room.
At around 5 p.m. last Saturday, the mother went inside the room of her daughter to check on her and found the 17-year-old hanging from the ceiling with a nylon cord tied around her neck. She immediately sought for help from the other people inside the house as well as from the neighbors. Muncada was brought to a nearby clinic but she was already dead by the time they arrived.
Investigators presumed that the victim took her life out of spite from the scolding.
In Makati City, the police are looking for two security guards who allegedly raped a 14-year-old student early this month.
The Women and Childrens Desk of the Makati Police reported that the girl filed the complaint with her relatives the other day after several weeks of careful consideration.
It was revealed that the incident took place on Dec. 5 inside the parking area of the Legazpi Mini Park, Legaspi Village, Makati City. The victim was passing through the parking area when her attention was called by the two security guards who were identified as Roberto Rugal and Jose Lanuzo, both members of the Premium Security Agency assigned to the Makati Commercial Estates Authority.
The two suspects claimed they just wanted to make friends with the victim and managed to get close to her.
Both suspects allegedly pounced on her and took turns raping her inside the parking lot. It took the victim sometime before admitting the incident to her relatives because of her shame.
Both suspects are still at large and are being tracked down by the Makati Police. Marvin Sy
