A 14-year-old boy died after being trapped by fire that struck a two-story apartment in Sampaloc, Manila on Christmas Day. A neighbor, who tried to save the boy was hurt.
Fire Officer 3 Wilson Tana said victim Kevin Carlo Alcoreza was already dead when his body was found by firefighters on the second floor of his two-story apartment at 959 Alley 2, Domingo Santiago street, Balic-Balic, Sampaloc, Manila. The house belongs to Dr. Rodolfo Abanilla, said to be Kevins grandfather.
"Alcoreza was seen waving frantically for help but nobody could get to him because of the flames. His mother, Rose Lyn, remained in shock and would break down whenever we tried to talk her," Tana said.
