Starting 10 p.m. today until 1 p.m. the next day, tollway operator Philippine National Construction Corp. (PNCC) will be closing the outer southbound lane of the Meycauayan River Bridge, located at Km. 19 between the Lawang Bato Emergency Exit and Meycauayan Interchange.
"We need to restore the slab of the bridge which has already been damaged due to the regular wear and tear of the road to ensure the safety of our motoring public. The traffic rerouting scheme will be undertaken at night time and early morning when traffic is less congested," Tollways Group head Leonilo Javier said.
Javier said a counter-flow scheme would be implemented when traffic congestion in the affected area occurs.
He said the PNCC will be deploying traffic enforcers to guide motorists to the counterflow lane. Traffic directional signs will likewise be installed at proper strategic areas to direct the motoring public.
