Police vowed yesterday to solve the P2.5-million robbery at the condo unit of a radio anchor of radio station dzMM over the weekend, saying they are conducting a round-the-clock investigation.
Senior Superintendent Sakurno Ikbala of the Mandaluyong City police said he suspects that there were two to three suspects who entered the condo unit of Kay Dacer, a niece of the slain missing public relations man Salvador "Bubby" Dacer.
According to Ikbala, Dacers bedroom at Unit 846 Cityland Pioneer Condominium along Pioneer Street, was in total disarray when she arrived home last Saturday.
"My men are conducting a round-the-clock investigation and we are hoping to solve the case in due time," Ikbala told reporters.
Police found a can opener inside a water meter box near the entrance door, a screwdriver and a sky-blue handkerchief , which Ikbala said were indications that more than one man was involved in the robbery.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) teams also lifted fingerprints from a black T-shirt and sunglasses believed to be left behind by the suspects.
The robbers escaped with Dacers jewelry box containing assorted jewelry amounting to P900,000, a Rolex ladys watch worth P300,000, a two-carat diamond ring worth P500,000, another one-carat diamond ring worth P250,000, a Cartier ladys watch worth P200,000 and a Piaget watch worth P200,000.
