Tension gripped the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) offices yesterday afternoon after an alleged drug-crazed man jumped off a Cavite bound bus and ran inside the agencys compound.
The man, identified as Edwin Molina, 33, of 1001-B Matimyas Street, Sampaloc, left a large box and a green suitcase inside a San Agustin bus (DWL 844) as he made a dash for the NBI compound.
Thinking that he had left a bomb inside the Cavite-bound bus, NBI agents immediately called the bomb disposal unit of the Western Police District. The team went inside the bus and checked the box and suitcase using a bomb-sniffing dog.
"The box only contained a video compact disc component while the suitcase contained clothes," said PO3 Roel Subcag.
When questioned, Molina said he was on his way to visit his wife in Tanza, Cavite when he heard voices telling him to get off the bus as it passed the NBI building, and run toward the compound. Mike Frialde
