Jobs fair in Metro slated

In a bid to curb the high unemployment rate in Metro Manila, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is mounting three jobs fair starting today.

DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) director Alex Maraan said the first jobs fair will be held today at the Quezon City Hall and will be co-sponsored by Radio Veritas. Another jobs fair will be mounted at the Bonifacio Shrine near the Manila City Hall on Nov. 27 and at the Philippine Trade and Training Center (PTTC) on Nov. 28-29.

"The scheduled jobs fair are for the unemployed as well as those who are currently working but are looking for better jobs or part-time jobs, Maraan said.

For easy facilitation and processing of applications, interested parties are reminded to bring with them pre-employment requirements such as resume, police clearance, diploma, employment certificates and other necessary documents.

Maraan said the jobs fair are part of the continuing efforts of DOLE to provide employment opportunities to more Filipinos and boost the country’s employment rate.
