2 electrocuted in Makati

One man died and another remained in critical condition after they were electrocuted the other day in Makati City.
Makati police homicide division identified the fatality as Carding Banez, 36, married, a resident of 7378 Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City. The other victim was identified as Mario Cornelio, 34, a resident of J.B. Roxas Street also in Makati City.
Based on the investigation of Police Officer 2 Ricky Tan, the two men were cementing a wall at a construction area along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay Olympia at around 10 a.m. when the incident took place.
It was revealed that the victims accidentally touched a live electrical wire dangling from a coconut tree near the area where they were working.
Witnesses saw the two men on the ground shaking after touching the wire. Both were rushed to the Makati Medical Center, but Banez died minutes after arriving.
Cornelio is still being treated for the severe burns he sustained. Marvin Sy
