-
An Intensity 3 tectonic earthquake jolted Quezon City and Makati City at exactly 4:57 yesterday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

It was also felt at Intensity 3 in Lukban, Quezon.

The quake, which registered a Magnitude 3.8 on the Richter Scale, was triggered by the movement of the East Laguna Fault straddling the western base of the Caliraya Plateau in Laguna and its epicenter was located at 31 kilometers northwest of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Phivolcs director Raymundo Punongbayan told The STAR.

Punongbayan said that the tremor is not expected to cause damage in the affected areas.
