An oven operator of a popular restaurant near Roxas Boulevard killed himself by hanging, after his long-time girlfriend reportedly threatened to leave him.
Homicide investigators of the Western Police District identified the victim as Noel Lumalang, 22, of 584 San Andres Street Street, Malate, Manila.
According to detective Norberto Obrero, the victim, who worked as an oven man for the Aristocrat Restaurant, went home at about 9 p.m. last Saturday, apparently depressed.
Police said Francisco Ordanza, fellow boarder of the victim went to his room to wake him up early yesterday morning. Ordanza was shocked to see Lumalang dead and hanging from a ceiling beam with a nylon rope looped around his neck.
According to Obrero, investigation showed that prior to the suicide, the victim was apparently bothered by the news that his long-time girlfriend was planning to break-up with him. Mike Frialde
