Navotas fisherman blows himself up

A 30-year-old fisherman was killed yesterday morning after a stick of dynamite he was using to catch fish off the Navotas shoreline exploded in his hand.
Roy Navales of Gov. Pascual St., Sipac, Almacen, Navotas, died on the spot due to severe multiple injuries, according to Navotas police chief Superintendent Billy Beltran.
Navales body was identified by his younger brother Jonathan, 27, after he was fished out and brought to shore by fellow fishermen who witnessed the explosion.
Police theorize that Navales could have lit a defective dynamite that exploded prematurely in his hand. Jerry Botial
