Police asset gunned own

A Filipino-Chinese police asset was killed yesterday morning by a still unidentified gunman inside a pool hall near his house in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Abulais Lao, 32, of Sta. Monica, Novaliches, sustained multiple bullet wounds in the back and died on the spot. He is reportedly an informant of the Central Police District.
The suspect, who fled after the shooting, was armed with a caliber .45 pistol.
The incident took place at around 3:30 a.m. inside a pool hall on Sarmiento Street, Sta. Monica. The victim was playing pool with a friend when the gunman came from behind, pulled out a gun and pumped four bullets into his target.
Police sources said Lao could have been killed because he was about to expose a criminal syndicate to lawmen. Matthew Estabillo
