Free LRT, MRT rides for elderly

The Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Metrostar Express will be giving senior citizens free rides for three days as part of the countrys observance of Elderly Filipino Week, which begins today.
The free rides can be availed today, Oct. 1, as well as on Oct. 4 and 7.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon "Dinky" Juliano-Soliman said senior citizens who can present a senior citizens ID issued by their respective local government units (LGUs) can avail of the free rides.
Soliman said the management of the LRT and MRT have already briefed their respective station personnel about the project. A senior citizens ID is issued to persons 60 years old and above by an LGUs social welfare office. Rainier Allan Ronda
