‘I’ll sue them all’

-
"My time will come when I file charges against them all."

These were the word uttered by fraud suspect Emilia Sison as she vowed to file libel charges against all TV networks and newspapers for "reporting the exact opposite" of what she told them.

Sison, 48, president of the International Commodities Sales Export Inc. (ICSE) said she is "fed up" with the media for covering one-sided news items.

"The only way I’ll probably be able to air my side on TV is if I pay them money. And I’ll make sure that libel charges will be slapped against all the networks and some newspapers," she said in an interview.

Sison is being detained at the Central Police District for amassing over a billion pesos by allegedly deceiving thousand of investors through her company, victimizing mostly high-ranking police and military personnel.

The suspect added that the police are illegally detaining her because a warrant of arrest has yet to be issued by the court.

Police said the Davao City Regional Trial Court has already issued a warrant.

"I can’t believe I’m in jail. And when I saw how the media portrayed me as already guilty of the accusations, I just bit my lip in disgust. My time will come when I file libel charges against them all," she said.

Sison stressed that her lawyers are already readying defamation charges against tabloid People’s Tonight and TV network ABS-CBN, and "pretty soon, all networks and most publications will be included."

"I’ve tried explaining to the media my side of the story, but they went ahead and reported the exact opposite of what I said. And I will no longer tolerate such biased reporting," she said. – Matthew Estabillo
