Imee’s QC home falls prey to Akyat-Bahay

-
Ilocos Norte Rep. Imee Marcos lost an undetermined amount of cash and valuables after her home at a posh subdivision in Quezon City was robbed the other night by suspected members of the Akyat-Bahay Gang.

Marcos told policemen that the robbers took cash, assorted pieces of jewelry, two cellular phones and other valuables while she and her family were out of the house.

Initial reports showed that the gang members entered the Marcos home located on Oakville Street, White Plains, at about 9 p.m. while the family was out having dinner.

Police said that the robbers might have gone through a nearby house that had no known occupants and climbed the terrace to the Marcos property.

The group then slid through a door that led to the room of the congresswoman’s son, Michael Manotoc.

They took Manotoc’s wallet and went straight to the master’s bedroom where they took a still undetermined amount of cash and valuables.

Investigators later invited some of the housemaids and the subdivision’s security guards for questioning. But Marcos requested them not to do so, expressing concern that the househelp might be accused of the crime.

Marcos said she trusts her maids and does not think that they could be in anyway responsible for the burglary. Matthew Estabillo
