Fire hits noodle factory

Some P20 million in materials and property were destroyed by a fire that hit a noodles factory in Valenzuela City the other night. No one was reported killed or injured in the two-hour fire, authorities said.
SFO1 Edgardo Hindo, of the Valenzuela Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said the fire took place around 11 p.m. after an explosion ignited highly combustible materials at Soft and Touch Development Corp., owned by a Robert Tan, located at 11 Malinis Street in Lawang Bato.
Arson probers said that the fire started at the factorys stock room where factory workers heard an explosion. The factory is one of the biggest manufacturers of macaroni and spaghetti noodles in Metro Manila. Jerry Botial
