Water cut-off advisory

-
Several parts of Novaliches, Quezon City affected by the water service interruption from Sept. 17 to 21 are still without water as of yesterday due to a mechanical and electrical problem affecting the major pump servicing the Bagbag Reservoir.

Maynilad Water Services Inc. said the rest of Novaliches residents living in Phases 135, 168, and 169 of Barangay Sauyo, Mabuhay Compound, Sitio Cabuyao, and NIA Village, are now enjoying normal water service.

Rodrigo Yabut, head of Maynilad’s water network, said they had to suspend the operation of the newly installed submersible pump at Bagbag after noticing a burning cable connected to it last Saturday while completing the final phase of the installation work.

Yabut said normal water supply will return Thursday night to areas still without water.

"We had to shut it off to examine the damage," Yabut said.

Maynilad scheduled the four-day water service interruption to give way to the annual clean up of the Bagbag reservoir and the installation of a 60-hp submersible pump at Bagbag.

Affected customers are advised to call the Maynilad Water Hotline 1626 for the water-rationing schedule.
