Pushcart yields 3 salvage victims

- Matthew Estabillo -
Police are now conducting follow-up operations in the case involving three salvage victims, who were all shot and dumped in a wooden pushcart at a vacant lot along Quirino Highway, Balintawak, Quezon City yesterday.

Victims Anthony Siaton, 25, a certain "George," 28, and a still unidentified man were all residents of Interion Tagumpay Street, Bagong Barrio Caloocan City. They are believed to be construction workers.

The three men were shot in the head. Their bodies were placed on top of another inside a pushcart covered with newspapers.

They were found at about 5:30 a.m. at a vacant area near an ice cream factory at 76 Quirino Highway, Barangay Balon-Bato, Quezon City by a certain Sally Ferrer.

Sources said the victims could have been killed either early in the morning or the previous night.

"Unfortunately, no witnesses have yet come forward. But I’m sure we can shed some light as to the motives of the killers once the relatives have been interviewed," said Police Officer 3 Rogelio Esteves.

Based on the initial investigation, the three men had been working at a construction site nearby. Sources said that two of the victims could be related.
