He did not have any bad debts. Only unpaid rent.
The police are looking into unpaid rentals as motive for the killing of a facial therapist who was gunned down by two unidentified men in Parañaque Saturday.
Jose Austria, 46, was found dead in a house along Rosal street in Marcelo Green Village, Phase 9 with a bullet in the head. He was hogtied along with his live-in partner Babylie Corea who was unscathed.
PO2 Ramil Padios said Corea told him that two men barged into the house where Austria was renting a room. The men were allegedly demanding P11,500 for the room which Austria allegedly promised a certain Rommel.
Padios said Austria told the two men to give him another day to produce the money, but the men were adamant, demanding instead that Austria give them any valuable item. Austria then gave them his Rolex watch and his cellular phone.
After talking to Romel on Austrias phone, the men hogtied Austria and Corea and covered their heads with seat covers. Shortly after, one of the men shot Austria in the head before fleeing.
Austria died on the spot while Corea managed to untangle herself and sek the help of the police.
Padios added that while the neighbors called the victim "doctor" for being a facial theraphist, he was not actually a licensed doctor. Austria treated wrinkles and other skin blemishes, Padios said.
