Theres cut-throat competition even among those working for peanuts.
A peanut vendor was killed the other night in Parañaque City after being stabbed by fellow vendor over a customer.
According to SPO2 Albert Parena of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Parañaque Police, the incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. in front of a videoke bar located along the East Service Road, Tanyag, Barangay San Martin de Porres.
The victim Allan Bejes, 26, married, a resident of Rodriguez Street, Malibay, Pasay City, was waiting outside the videoke bar when a "suki" (frequent customer) came out to buy some peanuts.
However, before the customer was able to approach Bejes, he was intercepted by another peanut vendor known only as "Noel."
An argument ensued between the two vendors as a result of the sale, but were separated by bystanders before they could come to blows.
The suspect left the scene and came back a few minutes later armed with a bladed weapon. Without warning, the suspect stabbed Bejes several times before fleeing. Marvin Sy
