Residents and motorists traveling to Las Piñas and nearby areas can soon heave a sigh of relief as portion of Jorge Aguilar Avenue or CAA Road, an access road that connects Las Piñas to Sucat Road, Parañaque City, will soon be widened to ease the traffic flow.
Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel Aguilar said the project is part of the citys traffic alleviation program and will be realized through the support of Senator Manny Villar and Rep. Cynthia Villar.
Aguilar said the expansion will alleviate the traffic problem on the citys major thoroughfares, specifically the Naga and Alabang-Zapote roads.
Also the project will enhance the citys beautification program as portion of the sidewalks will be landscaped. Aside from road expansion, sidewalks and drainage systems construction, mounting of streetlights will simultaneously be done to minimize cost and shorten a possible traffic disruption, Aguilar said.
Aguilar said the "bottleneck" portion of J. Aguilar Avenue, which is 10 meters wide, will be widened by another 10 meters at a stretch of about 800 meters.
