The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will start issuing new stored value (SV) tickets on Sept. 1 to make fares more affordable to commuters, particularly students.
LRTA administrator Teddy Cruz Jr. said the new SV tickets will be good for five rides and will be valid within six months from the time of purchase. SV tickets will be offered at P60 to P120. Single journey tickets will continue to be sold at P12.
"We want to provide commuters, particularly students, a more affordable alternative while enjoying the convenience offered by the LRT," Cruz said.
He said holders of the P60 SV tickets are also entitled to a last ride bonus even if the remaining balance is less than P12.
