August 15, 2002 | 12:00am
Wanted: Poor housewife with five children.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos Jr. is searching for such a constituent to be the recipient of his P200,000 winnings in the popular TV game show, "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"
But Abalos clarified that he will be turning over a house and lot rather than the cash amount to the lucky beneficiary.
The young city mayor has ordered the local Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Housing Authority (NHA) to provide him with a list of names and profiles of all qualified candidates.
Abalos said he prefers the winner to be a housewife with five children and no husband to support them.
Abalos, along with San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito and Caloocan City Mayor Reynaldo Malonzo joined the TV game show hosted by actor Christopher de Leon last Saturday. Malonzo also won P200,000 while Ejercito took home P300,000. Non Alquitran
