NBI agent kills cop in Paco Park

An agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) shot dead a rookie policeman in Paco Park, Manila before dawn yesterday for allegedly sending text messages to his girlfriend.
But agent Rodrigo Bange of the NBI-Anti-Fraud and Computer Crime Division was shot and wounded by a security guard as he was about to flee the crime scene.
Police identified the fatality as Police Office 1 Nestor Bontigao, 23, single and detailed at the National Capital Regional Police Office in Camp Ricardo Papa Sr., Bicutan, Taguig.
Bontigao died while being taken to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) while Bange remains in critical condition at the Manila Medical Center due to a gunshot wound in the back.
Investigation showed that Bontigao was at the Paco Park talking with security guard Larry Vicente at around 1:05 a.m. Tuesday when Bange arrived and confronted the policeman on why he was sending text messages to his girlfriend, a certain Beth.
Witnesses said Bontigao reasoned out that it was Beth, who gave him her cellular phone number. Apparently irked by the policeman’s answer, Bange pulled out his 9mm pistol and shot Bontigao.
Upon seeing the shooting, Vicente, of the Variance Protective Security Agency, drew his service firearm and shot Bange, who was about to escape.
Meanwhile, a female employee was seriously wounded after being robbed, raped and stabbed by a man in an office comfort room the other day in Makati City.
The victim is in critical condition at the Ospital ng Makati as a result of multiple stab wounds all over her body.
Based on the report of the Women’s and Children’s Desk of the Makati police, the incident took place in the ladies’ room at the third of the Glean Building along Magsaysay street in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo.
While the victim was alone in the comfort room, the suspect, 23-year-old Walter Corpuz of Barangay Comembo, entered and demanded P5,000 from her but she was unable to produce the money.
The suspect then forced the victim to take off her clothes and raped her. After forcing himself on her, the suspect pulled out an ice pick and started stabbing the victim in different parts of her body.
The suspect immediately rushed out of the comfort room but the victim was able to scream for help.
Tenants and security personnel of the building rushed the victim to the hospital while the Makati police was called.
