Former actor Dennis da Silva was ordered released yesterday by the Parañaque City Prosecutors Office pending investigation of the rape charge filed against him by his teenage stepdaughter.
Marilyn Paz, Da Silvas live-in partner and mother of the 14-year-old victim, was also ordered released. A charge of being an accessory to the crime was filed against her.
Inquest prosecutor Oliver Hernandez said there was a need for a preliminary investigation of the complaint because the alleged rape incident took place in October last year. The victim only filed a case against the 29-year-old actor Monday morning.
Police confirmed that the victim is now six months pregnant by Da Silva. She is now in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The preliminary investigation of a case is set on Aug. 15.
Da Silva, who starred in teen movies in the mid-80s, claimed that he and the girl had been carrying an affair. But the police arrested him and Paz Sunday night after the victims older sister called for police assistance.
