Parsons claimed the group of Rolando Centeno, 33, an Army reservist and resident of 42 E. De Guzman St., Concepcion Uno, and Antonio Caradinas, of SSS Village, Barangay Concepcion Dos, were out to harm him.
Superintendent Cipriano Querol Jr., Marikina City police chief, ordered Centeno arrested for violation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban but Caradinas was released after he denied having anything to do with Parsons.
They claimed them were in the area to arrest a drug pusher. Reports said Centeno, Caradinas and two other persons were seen at Azure Street, some five blocks away from Parsons house.
Parsons, who along with bodyguards, PO2 Marvin Cabagui and PO3 Sotero Rey, later arrived and arrested Centeno and Caradinas but their companions managed to escape.
Earlier, Parsons denied that reports about threats on his life are not part of his campaign to resurrect his movie career.
Parsons lashed back at his detractors who claimed that the series of threats on his life and his immediate family members were part of his publicity stunt aimed to revive his dying movie career.
"Im now facing a life and death situation and I cannot imagine using the issue Im tied into in the furtherance of my movie career," said Parsons. "I would not resort to gimmickry to gain the attention of the public."
Earlier, a police investigator claimed that the threats on Parsons life could be plain gimmicks to resurrect his movie career. Reports claimed that Parsons was approached by movie stuntman Roldan Aquino for him to play the lead role in the filming of a movie titled, "Pring, Huling Yugto."
Parsons, (Jose Nabiula in real life) admitted theres an ongoing negotiation for him to play Pring in the said movie. He vehemently denied that Regal Films approached him to do a movie on his heroic feat.
"Theres an offer for me to play Pring but its still under negotiations," said Parsons. "Kung meron mang ibang offer, I would beg off because of the risk Im facing."
At least five robbers entered Parsons house at SSS Village in Marikina City and robbed him of P130,000 cash and jewelry last July 18. The actor killed two of the robbers in a subsequent shootout and seriously wounded another.
Since then, Parsons claimed armed men wearing ski-masks to conceal their faces tried to abduct his housemaid, unidentified men on board two cars sporting no plate numbers are monitored casing their house and that remnants of the gang tried to finish him off. Non Alquitran
