SWAT team members told to guard Parsons

For reel or for real?
The Marikina City police is trying to determine whether the alleged threats against former Hagibis member and action star Sonny Parsons and immediate members of his family are for real or not.
This developed as Superintendent Cipriano Querol Jr., Marikina City police chief deployed a team of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and police car 140 to secure Parsons against those who want to hurt him and his family.
Yesterday, Parsons claimed that armed men believed to be the companions of the robbers he killed, tried to barge into his house by destroying the doorknob of their back door Thursday night.
Luckily, one of his housemaids was roused from sleep and made noises, prompting the suspects to scamper in different directions.
Parsons also hit the local police for not conducting a relentless follow-up operation against the two remaining suspects in the robbery, explaining why he reports directly to the higher police authorities.
"Mukhang matibay ang sikmura ng grupong naka-engkwentro ko. Marami sila kayat patuloy pa rin ang effort nila na makaganti sa akin," said Parsons in a TV interview. But despite these developments, however, Parsons said he is prepared to defend himself and his family. He refused to elaborate.
Earlier, Parsons, Jose Nabiula in real life, reported to Metro Manila police chief Deputy Director General Edgar Aglipay that masked men tried to kidnap his housemaid and armed men on board two cars with no plate numbers have been casing his neighborhood.
But local policemen are at a loss why Parsons failed to report the threats on his life and that of his family directly to them. "We feel that hes only after publicity for the future true-to-life movie of his life," said a police investigator.
Parsons killed two robbers who robbed him of P130,000 last July 18. Another robber, Joram Gacete, 24, was wounded, while two others managed to escape.
Since then, Parsons claimed the threats on his life begun.
However, Querol said they are conducting a threat assessment on Parsons and his family so they could also concentrate on other jobs like going after big-time robbers, kidnappers and drug pushers.
"Im reminding Mr. Parsons that our job is to secure all residents of the city and not only him and his family. We want to finish the problem as soon as possible so we can move our assets elsewhere where they are badly needed," said Querol in an interview.
According to Querol, they are interested right now to know where the threats on Parsons came from and the points of exit and entry of assassins to make sure that nobody would succeed in silencing him.
His report, Querol said would be forwarded to the Police Security and Protection Office (PSPO) in Camp Crame for them to decide whether to provide Parsons with full time security escorts like those extended to politicians and very important persons (VIPs). Non Alquitran
