One of those arrested, Roger Rodriguez, of Ilaya Street, Alabang, could face life imprisonment and a P500,000 fine after he was caught in possession of 10.9 grams of shabu, as stated in the new Dangerous Drugs Law, a statement from the city government said.
Members of the city police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the city governments Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) conducted buy-bust operations last July 19 from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. One of the raids led to the arrest of Rodriguez, who is 23 years old and jobless.
In a separate raid, tricycle driver Rolly Avelino, 28, also of Ilaya Street, was also arrested. The suspect yielded suspected shabu contained in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet.
Later in the day, authorities caught three brothers having a pot session with a friend in Purok 1, Barangay Bayanan.
The suspects were identified as Marcelo Cruz, 47, Manuel Cruz, 31, Deogracias Cruz, 29, and Orlando Carillo, 21, all residents of Block 2, Purok 1.
