Convenience store robbed in Pasig City

Five Armalite-wielding men disarmed a security guard and robbed a convenience store of P72,800 cash and assorted phone cards in Pasig City, the police said. The robbery was over in five minutes.
One of the robbers, Joel Armada, was later identified by employees of the I-Mart Pharmacy and Convenient Store through a photo gallery of rogue criminals, said Superintendent John Sosito, Pasig City police chief.
Sosito said the five robbers casually walked into the store located along West Capitol Drive in Barangay Kapitolyo at 1:30 p.m. Monday and disarmed the stores lone security guard.
A robber then announced the heist and at gunpoint ordered the customers and employees to the floor.
One of armed men emptied the cash register of P19,500 cash and grabbed the assorted phone cards amounting to P53,000, the police said. The robbers escaped on board a gray Honda Civic with plate number MSW 149 towards Mandaluyong City.
Inspector Rodante Arcigal of the Pasig City police said the robbers getaway vehicle was reported to have been used in past robberies in Quezon City and Mandaluyong City. Non Alquitran
