Man kills cousin, then shoots self
July 5, 2002 | 12:00am
A grade school teacher was shot dead by her own cousin in an argument over money in their house yesterday in Caloocan City.
Gripped by remorse on seeing his cousin, Carmelita Pulumbarit, 39, single, down on the floor dying from four gunshot wounds in the back, Efren Guidori, 38, single, resident of 109 Virgo street, Pangarap Village in Camarin, Caloocan City, shot himself in the right temple, the police said.
PO2 Aristotle de Guzman, officer-on-case, said the twin deaths occurred at around 10:15 yesterday morning.
Pulumbarit, a teacher at the Pangarap Elementary School on Sta. Maria and San Agustin streets, Pangarap Village and a resident of the nearby Guanadoville Amparo Subdivision, allegedly owed Guidori some money for work done by the latter on Pulumbarits house which was under construction.
Probers said Guidori badly needed the money and was demanding that Pulumbarit pay up. The teacher promised to pay what she owed but on a much later date which angered Guidori. Jerry Botial
