Coed raped by dad

"Morning sickness" gave away the real condition of a 14-year-old high school coed and led to the arrest of her own father whom she accused of sexually molesting her in the past two years in Caloocan City.
While attending her morning class yesterday in Camarin, Caloocan City, the victim felt faint, nauseated and went into a vomiting fit. She had to leave the classroom in haste.
She told her teacher she was probably pregnant and then was forced to reveal her ordeal. Her teacher advised her to tell her mother and the police about it.
The victim, who was accompanied by her mother, said in her statement made before SPO4 Marilou Rhebeng of the local Women’s and Children’s Protection Unit (WCPU), that her father started his sexual advances with simply fondling and caressing her private parts when she was in Grade six. She failed to say when her father forced her into sexual intercourse but told probers the last abuse happened only last week, on June 22.
She told police she was forced to give in to his father’s lust because she was threatened with bodily harm.
She said she had earlier told her mother about her father’s earlier advances but she allegedly refused to believe her. This situation allegedly further emboldened her father to continue the violations until the present signs of pregnancy.
The victim’s father is detained without bail at the Caloocan City jail.
Meanwhile, patrolling members of the Central Police District (CPD) arrested three suspected robbers after chancing upon them running along the stretch of East avenue in Quezon City at dawn yesterday.
Authorities also launched a pursuit against an alleged guest relations officer (GRO) who was allegedly in cahoots with the three suspects.
Police identified the suspects as Mark Lopez, 25, tricycle driver and resident of Batulao street, Barangay Sto. Domingo, Angel Rovalo, 25, and Ian Castro, 18, both of Luzon avenue, Barangay Culiat.
The other who escaped was named as Aileen Briones, 32, and resident of Botanical garden, Barangay Central.
Based on police records, the policemen chanced upon three men hurrying along East avenue around 4 a.m., carrying three bags believed to have been stolen. – Jerry Botial and Katherine Adraneda
