Free notebooks for Taguig studes

Taguig Mayor Freddie Tiñga will distribute close to 350,000 free notebooks to public elementary and high school students as classes open in the municipality today.

Tiñga, as chairman of the local school board, initiated the project to help alleviate the plight of public school students who do not have enough money to buy much needed school supplies. About 327,478 free notebooks will be given to elementary students while 40,000 will go to high school students.

Grades 1 and 2 pupils will receive three notebooks each while four notebooks will be given to every student from Grades 3 to 6. High schoolers will be given four free notebooks each.

Local School Board co-chairman, District Supervisor Josefina Eustaquio said that the notebooks are scheduled for distribution from June 18 to 21.

Students to benefit from this worthy project are from the Capt. Eddie Reyes, Tenement, Silangan (Main), Silangan (Annex, Capt. J. Cardones, EM’s Signal Main, Bagong Tanyag, Daang Hari, Upper Bicutan, C.P. Sta. Teresa, R.P. Cruz, C.P. Tiñga, E.C. Santos, Usuan, Dr. A. Natividad, Taguig, Tipas and Napindan Elementary Schools.
