-
A drunken employee of the Caloocan City Hall entrusted with ensuring public safety, allegedly fired his gun indiscriminately, wounding a pregnant young mother and causing a threatened abortion of the four-month-old fetus in her womb after she was hit by a stray bullet Sunday afternoon in Malabon City.

Victim Rosalinda Pecana, 21, of Barangay Potrero, is under observation at the Manila Central University (MCU) Hospital by attending doctors. Superintendent Pedro Ramos, city police chief, identified the suspect as Miguel Orbili, 30, of Morning Breeze, Caloocan, allegedly an employee of Caloocan City’s Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (DPSTM).

Investigation showed the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in front of the victim’s house where the drunken suspect started firing its gun indiscriminately into the air.

The victim, who was having a party with friends and relatives outside her house, was hit in the abdomen, prompting the partygoers to rush her to the hospital. – Jerry Botial
