Japanese found dead under condo shower

-
A 44-year-old Japanese real estate consultant died while taking a shower inside his condominium unit in Malate, Manila yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Masahiro Fujita, of 11-M Legaspi Towers located at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Vito Cruz Street.

Liezel Abremata, 19, a friend of the victim, told police that she and the victim ate pizza and chicken while watching television at about 8 p.m. last Thursday.

Abremata told police that Fujita said he was feeling tired after playing golf that morning. After eating, Abremata said she went to sleep.

At around 11:45 p.m. Abremata woke up and heard that the shower was running. When she checked, she saw Fujita slumped on the floor. She then called the condominium security guard for assistance.

Police said a medico-legal test on the victim’s body showed no external physical injuries. The case is still being investigated for possible foul play.

Meanwhile, for refusing to part with his gas stove, a man in Tondo, Manila, was stabbed dead by his own brother early yesterday morning.

Homicide investigators of the Western Police District identified the victim as Fernando Angeles, of 1715 Interior F. Varona Street.

According to Edgar, nephew of the victim, at about 1 a.m., he heard a commotion from the victim’s house which he shares with the suspect, Cesar Angeles, 50.

When Edgar rushed to the house, he saw the suspect running away from it. Entering the house, Edgar saw the victim lying in a pool of blood on the wooden floor. Police said the victim sustained two stab wounds in the chest and one in the back.

Also in Tondo, a stay-in laborer working on a hardware store, was electrocuted accidentally while cleaning a septic tank yesterday.

Police said Rico Olis, 24, of Barangay Malabu, Valencia Negros Oriental, and an employee of Evergood Marketing, was cleaning the store’s basement septic tank when he decided to go outside and scrub its surroundings.

Since it was dark, he plugged in the light bulb unaware that he was standing on the wet floor. He was then electrocuted and died while being rushed to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital. – Mike Frialde
