3 minors guilty in rape case

-
Three minors were found guilty of raping a 14-year-old girl more than two years ago in Makati City.

In her decision, Judge Leticia Morales found the three boys, with ages 14, 15 and 16, guilty beyond reasonable doubt of raping a minor. Being minors, The STAR is withholding the identities of the accused as well as that of the victim.

Based on the records of the case, the victim went out last Jan. 8, 2000 to celebrate the birthday of one of her friends.

The group went from one house to another until they eventually settled at a house along Metropolitan street in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Makati City. A drinking session ensued during which all of the participants were required to consume several shots of gin.

Drunk and tired, the victim and two of her girl friends, asked to be taken home but were instead asked to stay put and rest first.

According to the victim, she went to the comfort room but did not bother to lock the door. She said that one of the accused followed her and pinned her to the wall and started touching her.

The two other boys followed and instead of helping her, joined the first in raping her. After the suspects had finished taking turns on the girl, she was allowed to go out of the comfort room and leave with her two girl friends.

A medical examination performed on the girl after the incident revealed that there had been both vaginal and anal penetrations. However, no signs of the use of force or external physical injuries were found on the girl.– Marvin Sy
