For refusing anal sex, jail bird mauled to death

-
A detainee was allegedly mauled to death by at least six fellow inmates after he reportedly refused anal sex Friday night in the Malabon City jail.

Benjie Beo, 21, of Tala Estate, Caloocan City, expired before reaching the Pagamutan ng Lunsod ng Malabon due to severe deep wounds in the body and a swollen head he suffered from the suspects.

Jailed on two counts of robbery-holdup last year, Beo, according to reports, had resisted the suspects who were forcing him to engage in anal sex.

Superintendent Pedro Ramos, the police chief, said the suspects were Michael Quilang, Emerson Salentes, Marvin Dimantana, Paolo Manuel, and Rodel Esquibal. They were jailed for various charges ranging from robbery to murder.

Case officer PO2 Peter Rios said the incident took place around 10:45 p.m. when the six inmates mauled the hapless victim inside the city jail located beside the police headquarters near the city hall.

The alleged mauling was only pacified after JO1 Arthur Bejones, the guard on duty, arrived and intervened. He immediately rushed the victim to the hospital.

Prior to the incident, a few inmates, who refused to be identified, said the victim was awakened by the suspects who allegedly forced him to perform sodomy.

The victim resisted the suspects who went back to their cells after jail officers arrived discouraging the inmates’ sinister attempt against him that night.

Enraged by their apparent failure to perform sodomy on the victim, the suspects, upon seeing an opportunity, attacked and mercilessly mauled him to death.

Ramos said the suspects have been detained in a separate detention cell as charges of murder have been filed against them. – Jerry Botial
