Jinggoy taken to MMC

-
Former San Juan Mayor Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada, co-accused of his father, jailed former President Joseph Estrada in the capital offense of plunder, was taken anew to the Makati Medical Center (MMC) last Thursday night due to "aspiration pneumonia."

Jinggoy’s physician, Dr. Lorenzo Hocson, said that the former mayor was transferred from the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) to the Makati Medical Center at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday due to the lack of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) monitoring equipment at the VMMC.

Jinggoy and the ousted chief executive are held in detention at the presidential suite of the VMMC.

"The VMMC has no ICU monitoring equipment that is why we were forced to transfer Jinggoy to the MMC when we found out that he is suffering from aspiration pneumonia" Hocson said.

Hocson said that they have used a respirator and a nebulizer on Jinggoy to help him stabilize. "The urgency of taking Jinggoy to the MMC forced us to go without official notice to the Sandiganbayan special division handling the five criminal cases against the Estrada father and son," Hocson said.
