The Buddha Light International Association (BLIA) Philippine Chapter has invited the Fo Guangshan Monastic Choir to perform the Brahman chant in a "concert for peace" at the Cultural Center of the Philippines this coming May 25 and 26.
Considered a rare opportunity and privilege, the Fo Guangshan Monastic Choir is very famous and has been invited to perform in many countries.
It has performed at the Lincoln Center in New York; San Francisco, California; Vancouver, Canada; Rhine and Berlin in Germany; Antwerp, Belgium; London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lucerne; Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in Australia; Osaka and Tokyo in Japan; Singapore and Hong Kong.
The forthcoming "peace concert" will surely enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the Filipinos, the BLIA said, adding that the Brahman chanting of the Buddhist religion is akin to the Gregorian chant of the Catholic Church.
