Two sauna joints raided; 33 young girls nabbed

Police arrested 33 young girls, two of them while allegedly having sex with male customers, during separate raids on two health clubs in Pasay City and Parañaque City Tuesday night.

Superintendent Bayani de la Rea, chief of the Regional Intelligence and Special Operations Office (RISOO) ordered the raid on the El Varako Health Palace in Pasay City and Bay View Health Palace in Parañaque City following complaints that the two establishments were being used as fronts for prostitution.

The owners of the two establishments were not around when the twin raids were conducted between 11 p.m. and 12 midnight Tuesday. The raiding team also failed to arrest other workers of the two establishments, especially their cashiers, because they showed proper working permits.

De la Rea said an 18-year-old massage attendant was caught having sex with a customer when raiders led by Inspector Jackson Tuliao swooped down at the Bay View Health Palace located at 701 Roxas Boulevard in Baclaran at about 11 p.m.

Aside from the attendant, 14 other massage attendants were rounded up and brought to the RISOO headquarters in Camp Bicutan, Taguig for verification of their working permits and health certificates.

The same team, De la Rea said, also raided the El Varako Health Palace located at 1946 FB Harrison St., Pasay City and caught another massage attendant while having sex with a male customer. – Non Alquitran
